Clinton Phillips

Known as Cliffy to everyone in Botswana, this man's enthusiasm and passion for teaching people the art of guiding is legendary. From the earliest hours of the morning to the mid-night frog identification session, Cliffy epitomises the energetic guide/trainer that the industry thrives on.

Cliffy has been training guides in Botswana for a decade and is a founding member of Okavango Guiding School. He is a FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa) Level iii guide with SKS (Special Skills and Knowledge) DA (Dangerous Animals) He is also a BOTA and FGASA accredited guide trainer and assessor.

Grant Reed

Grant started guiding at the tender age of 16 and has worked as a guide and guide trainer ever since with several academic breaks.

Grant has a post-graduate degree in Nature Conservation and is currently working on a second post-grad. He is the Author of "Okavango Spirit Of Life" as well as the Narrator of the Documentary "Lake Ngami- from dust to dust" Grant is a FGASA level iii guide with SKS (Special Skills and Knowledge) DA (Dangerous Animals) as well as SKS Birding. His deep abiding love for dangerous reptiles and birds stem from his childhood in the Magaliesberg Mountains

Brent Reed

Brent Reed was born in the Magaliesberg Mountains of South Africa. Having spent his life in amongst the wildlife and studying wildlife, in particular reptiles and birds, a foundation was laid for an excellent guide trainer.

Brent is a FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa) Level iii guide and is a qualified assessor. He is a BOTA (Botswana Training Authority) registered guide trainer and has been involved in guide training for the past 5 years. He has also guided in 7 African countries with a guiding career that spans more that a decade.

Mike Reed

Mike Reed who instilled a passion for nature in his sons Brent and Grant has been a naturalist for more than half a century. The knowledge that he has accumulated over this time has in no way dimmed his enthusiasm for nature and his passion for teaching.

Mike is an excellent all round naturalist who is a qualified FGASA level 3 guide and currently completing SKS Wildflowers. He co-developed the Ranger Environmental Awareness Program in South Africa and has subsequently been involved with guide training in Botswana.

Lisa Reed

Lisa Reed (no relation to her business partners) joined OGS in 2007 but has been involved in guide training for many years. Having grown up in the wilderness areas of southern Africa Lisa has a huge amount of experience to draw on. She moved to Botswana in 1996 and has been in the guiding industry since then.

Lisa's speciality is in training guides to do family safaris and in particular dealing with children in the bush but she is also an excellent "all rounder"
